    Abstract: A compiled dataset of all active metal mineral claims across Canada
    Purpose: The dataset can give an indication of the areas where there is the potential of minerals in economically important quantites and thus the potential for mineral extraction activities.
    Supplemental_Information: The dataset was compiled from publically available information gathered during the fall of 2007. Quebec lease areas are combined with mineral claims and will be found in this file. The creation of this dataset was with the assistance of the Canadian Boreal Initiative and the International Boreal Conservation Campaign.
